I dunno if you can help me with something that's been happening to my PC lately
If leave my computer alone for a while… I mean I don’t touch it at all, not the buttons or anything… for 7 minutes… thats 7 MINUTES EXACTLY! I know because I timed it! So if I leave it alone and don’t touch anything for exactly 7 minutes… You can’t touch it because it then it goes back to normal… it turns off all of the sudden, and I get these worms crawling across my screen. WORMS! Now do I have that worm virus I’ve been hearing about on the news?

I also bought a new desk and I wonder If my computer is moved to another location in my house, will all my programs still be there?

Damn rosve ... it does sound like you've got the dreaded worm virus. This is a particularly nasty virus to remove and could take some time. Evil or Very Mad

A lot depends on the exact type of worm. Ragworms are very easy to catch but because of their length they may break and then you've doubled your trouble. I don't think that there's any anti-virus software that is 100% thorough in removing them. There was a new Russian AV that showed promise ... what was it called, Magpie's Wormpicker but I'm not sure how effective it is. A solution from Australia may be Moleunder that goes straight for the worms but leaves nasty mole-piles on the keyboard which are as big an irritant that the worms themselves.
The only proven solution that is guaranteed to remove the worms and sadly the PC itself is to soak the infected beast in a medium strength solution of sulphuric acid. Make sure you do this in a well ventilated area as the fumes can be noxious! affraid

And you've bought a desk too! Damn, then that is also likely to be infected and needs to be treated. If its a wooden desk you would be wise to leave it outside the house to chill over winter - that will give the worms a chance to leave for their vacation in your lawn. Then bring it inside in the Spring before they re-awake. It will also allow a few months for you to save your pennies to buy another PC. This time though, take more care of it and stop visiting crusty sites where you are likely to be re-infected! Twisted Evil

The final bad news is that your programs are already gone - moving the PC will have no effect. Sorry old chap. Take more care next time. Moony

I use to have this problem, I solved it by never leaving my pc alone for more than 7 minutes.

You can move your pc, but you can't unplug it, never unplug your pc or the worms will enter your colon.

You can fix it, but it's going to take a whole lot of holy water and a young priest to jump out a window when it's over.

Or you can run a UVP table and there will be so much lag, the worms won't appear for at least an hour. tongue

I tried Eltons advice and dipped my monitor in sulphuric acid solution.
I guess I should have used plastic gloves. Now look at this Sad .

So sorry rosve, my bad Evil or Very Mad I omitted mentioning the gloves! Best advice now is to send the hand only to Dazz in Texas for a few weeks to tan up. pale

You be right as rain then and all matched up once more.

Damn, what else can go wrong for ya this week. affraid
