Well, I'm looking at a pinball machine tomorrow....

Post  tamoore on Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:55 pm

Dealing with craigslist is really quite funny.. Guy sent me a forwarded email ( which I suspect to be fake) from the other guy who was supposed to look at it, but couldn't make it, telling him that "if the other guy doesn't offer fulaskingl price, let me know and I'll come back tomorrow to pick it up..... Wink

    Funny shit.

No way I would offer full asking price then. If I really wanted it, I might go full asking price minus 10 bucks. Smile

My strategy is going to be buy it if I think it's worth it, and bail if I don't.

If he asks me why I'm bailing, I'll tell him....

Do yourself a favor and don't get it. No Fear sucks man, i'm so glad my arcade got rid of it and replaced it with better.

    I bought it.

Freddie, I know a lot of people don't like No Fear, but I really like it. It's what everyone says, but it's the 'flow'. I like ramp filled playfields, as I'm as much about watching the ball travel than playing the game.

This machine is immaculate. No playfield wear, All the ramps and toys in perfect condition, and only one broken sling plastic (a little corner broken off), but I've got a line on a replacement. The owner has taken crazy good care of it. The decals on the outside of the machine are slightly faded, but it's not the worst No Fear I've seen in that regard.

Normally, I'd have a bit of buyers remorse after dropping that much coin, but I don't today. I'm totally happy. Can't wait to get it home on Thursday! Smile

Very Happy I paid full asking price. It's worth it, IMO. Looks brand new, inside and out.

Looking at buying a Bally X's & O's this week too. Wasn't too big on it when I looked at the pictures, but it looks pretty interesting from the youtube clips I've seen. Kind of like a Mystic on the lower playfield, with an upper bank of drop downs and third flipper. Also, a cool ball save kicker on the lower right.

    Any opinion on that machine?

Since you have an arcade museum, any game you buy is cool, but if you had only space for a couple, then selection is much more important. Thanks for offering to host our first annual TCOP reunion at your place next summer.

All invited to attend! Very Happy

I have what is going to be a 'pinball room', and it has space for probably eight machines, and I can have two additional outside the room in another part of the arcade.

If all goes correctly, I'll have four by the weekend.

I ordered the replacement slingshot covers for No Fear.

I know X's and O's is PracticeDummy's most hated machine other hten the Playboys lol...

I've never played X's and O's in real life and the old VP versions are too bad to really give it justice. I've played TAB's Super Bowl conversion of X's and O's and still its a TAB table so it doesnt really give me a good idea of how good the table is Smile

I think it is a neat machine though and i would like to play one.

there have been other tic tac toe themed pins that i really enjoy too

I like it because the sounds are pretty cool, and it seems to be a target shooters pin. Super Soccer really only has one target to try to hit on purpose (Special), and of course, No Fear has no targets whatsoever Very Happy.

I think it would fit well into my lineup.
Looking forward to trying it out.
