VPF Table Approval

Time to get crusty.
WHY do tables need approval to be posted at VPF? According to Noah's thread, it is to avoid malicious files.
Since I have never heard of even ONE person downloading a malicious file from VPF, I must ask why this is being done?
I have not uploaded any tables to VPF but personally feel this new "hoop" that needs jumping through is actually disrespectful to those that go through the time and effort to author a new table.
Since I will never gain any VIP status there, I can vent here, right?
Well, it seems to me that unless there has been an issue with malicious files, this is just stupid. Paul barely has enough time to manage the site. Now he has to be the big man that grants his sacred blessing on all files?

You could only upload to the Original Table category in the past anyway unless you were a VIP or pre-approved to upload, so not much difference having to be approved now. This might solve the problem of the old system with stuff being in the Original table download area that never belonged there in the first place, but was never moved by their staff after being uploaded there.

VIP isn't that hard to get i got it after one PM to noah before i even posted on VPF

I released several, and never "made" it to the vaunted status.....

I was sitting around minding my own business and next thing you know, I was a Moderator over there. So be careful where you sit.

But after boarding the obbb chat with a boxcutter and helping hijack it for visual pinball domination, I've asked to be downgraded to VIP.

My credit card was declined and he made me VIP lol. My guess is more to check tables for "links" as I read in that thread that some had put bbb links in their tables.
