Re: Is this forum about disc golf?
LOL, I just saw this forum and came here to post a disc golf thread. I usually say Frisbee golf, since I get confused when typing disk or disc.

I remember you telling me that you golf with just one disc. I got a bag full of the things now, and I use different ones all the time. I have a super over-stable disc for holes that dogleg right and discs that have a huge fade for left turns. I have midrange discs that have nearly no fade, I have drivers made out of better materials for more grip, or harder in case there are trees in the fairway that might get hit.
On the courses I'm starting to play all the time, I know the holes well enough that these discs really make difference to me.
I still can't throw more than 250 feet, but on most holes, I'm getting to the hole in two and put on three, with the occasional duce, or bogey if I put for shit.

I just carry 2 Valkyrie's, in case I lose one, I have only lost one, it was in the water, I went back 2 days later and found it when water was receding.
I use to play pool that way too, I like to beat guys who carried their own sticks with a house stick that was really bowed, I would roll on it the table until I found a nice bent one, but they always had a nice rounded tip on them.

So, how about pocket golf? Does that count as real golf?

One of the courses I play is deep woods on each side of the fairway. If you get a shot that fades a bit too much of a tee shot, it'll end up in really dense woods. I've lost two discs there.
But, I've also found 2 there while looking for my original discs, so I guess it's a wash.
I had one taken from me, because I forgot I left it laying on the fairway after my tee shot. I remembered it while I was playing the next hole, and ran back to pick it up - but it was already gone...

As long as your putter never comes out of your pocket, play it all you want.rosve wrote:So, how about pocket golf? Does that count as real golf?

I didn't think the reference to Steve's 19th hole had anything to do with golf...
